Located in Changchun, the capital city of Jilin Province, Jilin Agricultural university is a key university of Jilin Province built by The People's Government of Jilin Province with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.?The university has 20 departments, a graduate department and a direct teaching department. It is the first batch of university in China to have the right to grant bachelor's and master's degrees, and the first batch of university in the provincial institutions to obtain doctoral degree authorization. JLAU has a teaching staff of 1801 and 20990 full time students. JLAU has implemented the strategy of opening-up and unceasingly broadened educational dimensions, and set up bilateral exchange and cooperation relationship with 93 universities and research institutes abroad, such as the U.S, Canada, UK, Italy, Russian, Japan, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, Zambia, etc. Moreover, it is also a director member of Belt and Road South-South Cooperation Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation League (BRSSCAL), a vice chairman member of China-Africa Research Center for the Development of Green Agriculture. On behalf of Chinese Government, JLAU constructed one of the first China Aid Programs Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center in Zambia, which has been known as ‘South-South Cooperation Model’.The university covers an area of 1347 hectares,and it is adjacent to the 5A class scenic spot Jing Yuetan National Forest Park, with its unique campus planning and pleasant scenery, and it is called “the University in garden”.
