Xi’an Fanyi University (XFU) was founded in 1987 by late Professor Ding Zuyi，an outstanding educator in China and the first president of the university. As one of the earliest non-governmental universities in China, XFU has grown into a dynamic comprehensive university with a tradition of anticipating and leading change.

西安翻譯學院由我國當代杰出教育家、民辦教育拓荒者丁祖詒先生于1987年創辦。作為中國最早的民辦大學之一，經過三十多年的辦學實踐，西安翻譯學院已發展成一所以文、商科為主，以外語為特色，多學科協調發展、具有重要影響和鮮明特色的民辦大學。
