Established in 1958, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM) has been listed as one of the co-constructed higher educations by Ministry of Education (MOE), State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM) and Tianjin Municipal Government. It is the only former State Education Commission (Present MOE) approved International University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and also the hosting institution of Educational Instruction Committee, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS), “Educational Aid Center” and “China-ASEAN Educational Training Center” of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)and Ministry of Education, TCM International Cooperation Center of SATCM,and WFCMS “Belt & Road” Training Center for Chinese Medicine Education Teachers. Adhering the motto of “Strengthening moral education and pursuing academic studies, inheriting and innovating”, TUTCM has developed into a teaching and research oriented university with TCM education as the main body, and covers extensive areas of study, namely as Medicine, Science, Arts, Management, Engineering and Education. In 2017, the university was selected into China “Double First-class” university and Chinese Materia Medica was selected into “Double First-rate” programs. The University has distinguished teaching staff and sufficient resources for students’ internship. Currently it has two National Key Programs of Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Tuina and TCM Internal Medicine. There arethree affiliated and teens clinical teaching hospitals. Among them, the First Teaching Hospital is a National TCM Clinical Research Center, the National Acupuncture Clinical Research Center, the National Acupuncture Clinical Center and the National Provincial Demonstration TCM Hospital; the Second Teaching Hospital is the treatment center for TCM rare diseases and leading in gynecologyand encephalopathy diseases; Baokang Hospital and other teaching hospitals have unique treatment features in TCM Rehabilitation, TCM Orthopedics, TCM Community Health, Clinical Integrative Medicine and etc. The University has extensive international exchanges and cooperation. It aims to cultivate international applied talents in clinic with solid theoretical foundation and excellent clinical skills which make it enjoy a high reputation world wide. It has formed TCM internationalization talents training system where the bachelor education is the main part.The system also covers master and doctoral education and short and long term certificate studies. Every year，there are over 2,000 international students from more than 60 countries or regions coming to study at TUTCM.

天津中醫藥大學始建于1958年，已入圍教育部、國家中醫藥管理局、天津市政府三方共建高校之列，是原國家教委批準的唯一一所中國傳統醫藥國際學院，是世界中醫藥學會聯合會教育指導委員會主任委員單位。為國家教育部“教育援外基地”、外交部和教育部“中國-東盟教育培訓中心”、國家中醫藥管理局“中醫藥國際合作基地”、世界中聯“一帶一路”中醫藥教育師資培訓基地（天津）。學校秉承“進德修業，繼承創新”的校訓，經過多年發展，現已成為以中醫藥為主體，醫學、理學、文學、管理學、工學、教育學多學科協調發展的教學研究型中醫藥大學。2017年，學校入選國家“雙一流”建設高校名單，中藥學科入選國家“雙一流”建設學科。

學校師資力量雄厚，實習資源充足，專業設置合理，有針灸推拿學和中醫內科學2個國家級重點學科，現有直屬附屬醫院3所，臨床醫院十余所。其中，第一附屬醫院是國家中醫臨床研究基地、全國針灸臨床研究中心、全國針灸臨床基地和全國省級示范中醫醫院；第二附屬醫院是中醫疑難病診療中心，婦科、腦病的臨床和科研具有顯著優勢；附屬?？滇t院及其他教學醫院在中醫康復、中醫骨傷、中醫社區醫療、中西醫臨床等方面各具診療特色。

學校廣泛開展國際交流與合作，注重培養理論知識扎實、臨床操作能力強的國際應用型臨床人才，在國際上享有較高的聲譽，現已發展成為本科教育為主體，涵蓋碩士、博士等高層次教育及長短期進修的傳統醫藥國際化人才培養體系。每年約有來自60多個國家和地區的2000多名國際學生在學。
