Guizhou Normal University (GZNU), founded in 1941, with the former name of “National Guiyang Teacher’s College”, was one of the eight national teachers’ colleges in China at that time. It was formally entitled “Guizhou Normal University” in 1985 and honored as one of the provincial key university jointly built by Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Guizhou Province in 1996. In 2017 it was selected as “The First Batch of National Demonstration Universities for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform”. GZNU has a complete range of disciplines, covering 11 disciplines such as philosophy, literature and education. There are 32 programs offering doctoral degree, 116 programs offering master degree and 86 undergraduate programs. GZNU is rich in education and teaching resources---9 national bases, 9 national scientific research platforms, 32 provincial scientific research platforms and 13 provincial scientific and technological innovation talent teams. GZNU attaches great importance to intercommunication and cooperation, and actively conducts academic exchanges with universities and institutions abroad. GZNU cooperates with the Scottish Qualification Management Committee to award the UK Diploma in Higher Education program (SQA-AD), Cooperates with Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) to offer the undergraduate international general education course (IGEC), and cooperates with University of Central Oklahoma on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools program. Until now, more than 280, 000 students graduated as qualified talents from GZNU, and GZNU is developing into a normal university with distinctive characteristics of teacher education and coordinated development of multi-disciplines, which has made a positive contribution to the economic and social development in Guizhou province.
貴州師范大學的前身——“國立貴陽師范學院”創建于1941年，是當時全國八所國立師范學院之一。1985年更名為“貴州師范大學”。1996年被貴州省人民政府確定為省屬重點大學；2015年成為教育部與貴州省人民政府共建的高等學校；2017年入選“國家級首批深化創新創業教育改革示范高?！?。學校學科專業門類齊全，涵蓋哲學、文學、教育學等11個學科門類?，F有6個一級學科博士學位授權點、24個一級學科碩士學位授權點、17個專業學位類別碩士學位授權點，86個本科專業。學校堅持開放辦學，先后與韓國、日本、泰國、印度尼西亞、馬來西亞、俄羅斯、白俄羅斯等多個國家和港澳臺地區的大學與科研機構建立長期合作與交流關系、開展有師生交流項目,設立有瑞士研究中心、中國—東盟文化研究中心（培育）等。學校歷經八十年風雨，培養培訓了30萬余名各條戰線的優秀人才，逐步發展成為教師教育特色鮮明、多學科協調發展的師范大學，為推動貴州經濟社會發展做出了積極貢獻。
