Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), founded in 1949, is the only state-level key university of art in China with the goal of cultivating senior professional music talents. As the national center of music education, music composition, performance, research and social music promotion, it enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. CCOM is equipped with Composition Department, Musicology Department, Conducting Department, Orchestral Instruments Department, Traditional Chinese Instruments Department, Voice & Opera Department, Department of AI Music and Music Information Technology, Institute of Music Education, Violin Making Center, Department of Arts & Humanities, The Middle School affiliated to CCOM, Piano Academy at Gulangyu, Institute of Musicology, Music Confucius Institute Office and Center for International Music Culture Exchange, etc. Over the past 70 years, CCOM has attracted a number of experts and scholars who have made outstanding contributions in teaching, composition, performance and scientific research, and has cultivated tens of thousands of outstanding musical talents and hundreds of foreign students. Most of them have become renowned composers, musicologists, music educators, music performing artists, leaders and business backbones of cultural and art institutions. 中央音樂學院成立于1949年，以培養高級專業音樂人才為辦學目標，是中國藝術類院校中唯一一所國家級重點大學，作為全國的音樂教育中心，音樂創作、表演和研究中心以及社會音樂推廣中心，在國內外享有盛譽。
學校設有：作曲系、音樂學系、指揮系、鋼琴系、管弦系、民樂系、聲樂歌劇系、音樂人工智能與音樂信息科技系、音樂教育學院、提琴制作研究中心、人文學部、附屬中等音樂學校、鼓浪嶼鋼琴學校等教學院系和音樂學研究所、音樂孔子學院辦公室及中外音樂文化交流與體驗基地等機構。建校七十余年來，中央音樂學院擁有一批在教學、創作、表演和科研中卓有貢獻的專家和學者，培養了數萬名優秀音樂人才及數百名外國留學生，其中大多數已成為在國內外享有盛譽的作曲家、音樂學家、音樂教育家、音樂表演藝術家、文化藝術機構的領導人和業務骨干。
